one of the Sports Committee & myself put a pill box in the middle which could not be seen – we open the bottle tonight & count them there are really 603 peas in it but most of them have gone from 700 to 1200, a few have gone from 200 to 500. We went to the Barbers shop & bought 2 prizes for this & two for the Eucha Card Tournament and I have the honor to present them tonight.
I forgot to mention that last Monday evening we got the S.O.S. signal from some ship some distance west of us who stated a big Sub[marine] was shelling him, we or our Escort could not of course go to his assistance
