and Rank & file – that will be pleasant news to some people I know – but I for one am glad it is so altho' there are many growls from others.

Not a light of any description is allowed to be exposed after dusk all port holes are closed shuttered & blinds drawn should any one wh wish to go out for a stroll after dinner, the one dim light in the passages is switched off by the opening of the outside deck door, besides this percaution there are heavy canvas curtains over each door.  Our greatest trouble is the cigarette smoker who will strike a match in the open but after the first culprit was caught
