Schedule I have laid before the public, I confine myself entirely to th reports and journals of those who were actively engaged in Quest of after the Aboriginal tribes.

The reader will have observed that I have hitherto not preserved chronological order, but have rather in many instances anticipated events and occurrences. My motives are obvious - had I introduced the transactions of every successive year by themselves my narrative must have partaken of the character of a Diary, it overloaded with unnecessary matter, and appearing tedious and dis disjointed. - The next subject I to be discussed would not now be the so called, Aboriginal war, but I prefer here to furnish some account of the Manners history, languages and Religion (if any) of the Aborigines which will greatly facilitate the reader [indecipherable] with, when entering upon those positions of my production which will appear last. I wish to avoid recapitulation as far as possible
