"treacherously murdered by the three black natives now in custody, aided and assisted by the residue of the tribe to which they belonged known by the name of the Big River tribe, during the most friendly intercourse whilst endeavouring to carry into affect the conciliatory measures recommended by the Government."

(Signatures of the jury).

McGeary positively asserts that it was the Port Sorell tribe Blacks who killed Captain Thomas and Mr Parker, but no further notice was taken of it, the criminals were merely sent to the Aboriginal establishment in the Straits.

Even Mr Robinson was not always safe of from danger. One of the journals relates that the conciliatory mission started early in the morning of the 21st January 1830 and passed through a very rough country, and in the evening, they pitched their tent at the side of a large cave. In the middle of the night a Black native, nicknamed the Doctor, came to cut Mr Robinson's head off with a sword, being jealous of his wife Trugananna who had accompanied the mission from Brunie Island.
