1816. - A public officer and a man who is since dead, were sent to Sydney for sheep stealing. - -

Mr George [indecipherable], brought the first cart from the North side of the island.
Colonel Patterson [indecipherable] had in Governor King's time formed a settlement at George Town. -
At Norfolk island is a [indecipherable] in a level place for boats which renders it less perilous [indecipherable] on the Sydney side. - Cascade on the other side. Boats were sometimes dragged round in a carriage. - - - -
Colonel Sorell's time walking with a hat on. No barracks to confine a prisoner in until the latter end of Colonel Sorrell Female Convicts were allowed to get lodgings where they could. The most audacious were sent to a small place near the jail. -
Magistrates had as many tims assigned Servants, who were all rationed by the Government - These men had [indecipherable] - Constables. could not, and dared not, - 8/9/ per week, and if not they paid in Sheep - Cattle - or any thing they could plunder and steal. -
