Mosquito ordered a Gin to retire with a white man, and she obeyed his orders. This happened, as I was told, very often. Mosquito ate mutton, the other Blacks would not touch it. Some of the black Tribes began to be troublesome a few months after I came here. I heard so, but it did not come within my own knowledge. I do not recollect the time that Mosquito's mob first became troublesome. The Blacks were always considered treacherous - I have now lived in Mr Anstey's service about six years. I never knew, nor did I hear, that the Black's began to molest Whites. About 4 years ago a mob of 20 men, women, and children remained a month or nearly so in the Marsh about a quarter of a mile from Mr Anstey's House. They had bread given them frequently. McGregor a Sawyer, had frequent intercourse with the Gins. He was accused by my fellow servants of stealing their sugar to bribe the black men to allow their Gins to retire with Him.
