which year all the armed parties were called in, and all the pursuits occured. There now only remain on the island three of the wild native blacks, and they are frequently met with in what is termed the "New Country". These have been left in quiet possession of their favourite place of residence, & neither receive any nor inflict injury. Thus from a nation which carried dismay & terror throughout this fair & lovely island, a miserable remnant of three alone remain in a state of native freedom.
