Rhamnus ferrugineus
Flowers hermaphrodites. Leaves egg-spear-shaped, on leaf stalks, very entire, downy underneath.

The younger leaves on the first appearance are covered with a rust colored down, and this is not unfrequently to be met with in the older parts - A slender shrub, in general growth about 8 feet high, but sometimes attains to 12 or more, branching. Branches alternate, pubescent, and thickly covered. Leaves egg-spear-shaped, alternate, on foot stalks, very entire, of a dark shining green above, covered underneath with a white pubescence. Flowers in a kind of umbel, Involucrum none - Flowers straw color, Grows among rocks.

In all the seed vessels I examined, I found 3 cells, containing 1 seed in each cell, which was roundish, & a little distended on each side. The seed vessels were very hairy; the flowers properly in tufts. Leaves very soft underneath.
