but in general they are about 15 in number the whole; they are all bowed inwards and unequal in length.  By the capsule only having 2 cells it agrees with Fimbriearia from whence it seems only to differ in the number of stamens.  Whole shrub of a fine agreeable scent.   April 1803

Leaves semi-cylindrical; filaments wooly; roots globular - depressed

The root of this plant is about the size of an earth nut and covered with a brownish skin and sending forth a few strong lateral fibres  Stalk herbaceous, Leaves awl-shaped but semi-cylindrical fleshy and full of juice, Flowers many, yellow, on fruit stalks with a membranaceous floral leaf at the base.  Petals with a green keel.  Filaments inclining, wooly, yellow.  Style as long as the stamens.  Summit blunt.  Grows in moist ground inclining to base
