small awn, slightly twisted, & on a short footstalk, Flowers terminating the little branches, in pairs, threes, or several together, forming a little umbel. Standard and wings yellow, claws white, the former with a red obscure semicircular ring. Keel greenish white. Legumen covered with small hairs Style ending in a hook. Seeds 2. It differs from parvifolia in growing erect, & of a darker color.  The leaves being longer and not so much twisted.  Its flowers being on a slender thread like peduncle, Leaves solitary, in pairs threes, or scattered, younger part of the branches & teeth of the calyx sometimes slightly pubescent, Floral leaves a few small minute scales on the general & partial fruit-stalks.
