Seeds numerous
A shrub about 3 or 4 feet high. Wood with a dark greyish bark. Little branches very numerous, in cross pairs. Leaves sessile in cross pairs, pressed close to the branches so as to appear tiled, very short, blunt, concave on the upper side, but convex on the other part, full of glandular dots. Flowers solitary, from the base of the leaves, near the end of the branches; fruit stalks as long as the leaves. Calyx dotted, slightly angular at the base, teeth short, thick. Petals white, often times with a tinge of red. Stamens inverted to the base of the teeth of the calyx, sometimes these are 4 to 5 tooth, sometimes 3, & also only 2 but
