Blue Gum tree, a name here so given It is also called White Gum tree.

Umbel lateral and terminal. General flower stalks half an inch long, compressed, dilated upwards. Partial leaf stalks very short, 2 edged.  Lid hemispheroid - depressed, terminating in a blunt point, of a russet brown color. Stamens numerous, long, white.  Anther very small Leaves alternate, foliated or oblique, in general with a part wanting at the base on the innerside; leaf stalks compressed, in a cross direction to the leaves, frequently twisted Little branches angular, of a reddish brown color. The bark of this tree is of a greyish white, probably this gave rise to the above names.  It casts its bark annually in the summer season. The young bark at first is of a tawny color.  Agrees with Eucalyptus hamartoma of Dr Smith, excepting the red part, which constitutes the trivial name.
