Since I wrote the above remarks I have suspected that it was nearly allied to Samolus. And the one I have called Worsleia lucida [?], at first I took it to be Samolus valerandi but on examining it, I found that it did not altogether agree with it. Although it is evident a Samolus, yet I cannot well persuade myself that it is no more than the British species, yet an inhabitant of a country, whose vegetable produce has in a manner altogether appeared totally distinct from that of other parts of the globe.
