yellow; the latter smaller & placed inwardly, which causes a distinction.  Female flowers solitary, or in pairs, axillary, on short fruit-stalks, & instead of a terminal leaf, the place is occupied in general by a pair, or one at least.  Calyx with 3 to 6 leaves, but 3 is the most prevalent.  The Capsule is very small when young, but when half grown very large, & of a white color. The seeds are red, but when rubbed this redness soon easily comes of.  Style & summit prominent. Capsule with a hollow dimple on the upper side.  It has little or no scent.  I have only seen it in one place, & in that but sparingly

I believe Mr Brown called it Mayoporum [possibly Myoporum] Tetrandia  Monogynia.

Cal. Cup 5 leaves, beneath; leafets strap-shaped; unequal, upright, permanent

Bloss. 1 petal salver shaped. Tube shorter than the cup, cylindrical in the lower part, wider upwards, with 5 corners & 5 grooves.  Mouth closed with hair,  Border with 5 divisions, horizontal.  Segments unequal generally broadest in the middle.

Stam. Filaments 4, thread shaped, fixed to the bottom of the tube.  Anthers fixed inwardly by the upper parts to the filaments, open at the lower; and discharging the pollen on the outer sides.
