Cal. Cup 1 leaf, with 5 deep clefts, teeth upright, nearly equal, rolled back at the edges, toothed.
Bloss. 1 petal, gaping. Tube above twice the length of the calyx, wider upwards. Mouth open Upper lip upright, flat, notched at the end, teeth blunt. Lower lip with 3 segments, middle one the largest, as long as the upper lip.
Stam. Filaments 4, thread shaped, a little longer than the tube, the 2 outermost a little longer. Anthers 2 upon each filament, united at the upper end.
Pist. Germen roundish Style thread shaped, a little longer than the stamens. Summits 2, very slender, expanding.
S. Vess none, the calyx unchanged contains the seeds in its bottom.
Seeds 2 convex on one side, flat on the other.
The plant from which the description was taken was about a foot high, with spreading suffructicose branches. Leaves strap spear shaped, decurrent, in opposite cross pairs, or alternate, thickly covering the branches, with little teeth along the edges, appearing as if crennated, the upper surface is wrinkled, the underside covered with soft wooly hairs, and the edges rolled backwards.
