Cal. Cup & leaf,  contracted at the bottom, (larger than the tube of the blossom) with 5 deep divisions.  Segments egg-spear shaped, short, permanent

Bloss. 1 petal, wheel-shaped.  Tube wide.  Border with 5 divisions, egg-shaped, reflected, blunt.
Nectaries Velum 5, awl-shaped, longer than the stamens, placed in the divisions of the blossom, & alternate with the stamens.

Stam Filaments 5, thicker towards the bottom, longer than the tube of the blossom. Anthers fixed to the inner side of the filaments beneath the summit, double, with cells, opening laterally

Pist. Germen superior, conical Style thread-shaped, shorter than the stamens.  Summit blunt

S. Vess. Capsule egg-shaped, with 1 cell 5 flat sides, and 5 valves, opening at the top

Seeds many, very small.  Receptacle egg shaped
