upon the pistil, each divided into 4 very slender elastic threads, supporting the anthers.  Anthers 8, inversely egg shaped, compressed, covered by a fold of the upper lip of the nectary of 2 cells.

S. Vess. Capsule oblong, of 1 cell, 3 valves, 3 keels.

Seeds numerous, like sawdust. Receptacle strap shaped.

Since I made the Generic character, unfortunately I neglected getting some more specimens for to make some more remarks.  I have looked carefully for it this season, but it did not make its appearance, owing most likely to the great drought that we have had.  I believe I sent you some specimens of it by the Buffalo, which I gathered at Sydney, where it grows more plentiful than at Parramatta.  It is a very little plant, with only one sheathing and leaf, of an egg-shaped figure, a very slender thread like stalk, supporting only a single flower, which is of a whitish color.
