experienced before, ports were stove in, horse boxes and decks shifted and many places flooded. By 8.30 we were away from the land swell and local current so she just settled down to the ordinary rough sea which prevailed. The boat is now loaded deeper than she has ever been before, being only 4 inches off the new plimsoll, and right over the top of the old German one. At 10 oclock we ran into more rough seas, and she rolled and pitched in a frightful way many seas broke aboard and the bridge and upper decks were smothered in spray, this sort of weather continued all night.
