Friday 20th August 1915. The sun shining brightly the sky blue and the water equally as blue with a long swell causing the ship to roll gently characterises today. Days like this make one feel glad to be alive, as well as glad to be at sea. Many small birds have flown aboard, and made themselves comfortable in different parts of the deck houses. These have most likely been blown off the land somewhere about the Canaries which we are now fast approaching.
