and are all large commodious two deckers. Trams run in all directions, and locomotion is cheap. There are numerous rickshas stands in the city and the Kaffirs who pull these two seater conveyances are gaudily decorated. Many of them wear cows horns on their heads, and all have some sort of plumage or another. The streets are all wide, well paved, and at night brilliantly illuminated by electric light. The Town Hall, Post Office and Railway Station are all fine buildings, and in many parts of the city are some beautiful monuments erected to various South African heroes.
