Sunday 12th Septr. Travelling close inshore and going in the opposite direction we passed a British light cruiser at 10.30am. At that time the Bluff outside Port Natal was a few miles ahead on the Port side. Half an hour later we were abeam of the breakwater where we slowed down to allow the Pilot to come aboard. He came out in a fine big tug from which a small boat was lowered which carried him to our gangway.
