amidships. The Purser perfected the sound, so his part in the programme is to "croon for the gentlemen". The 2nd is a very versatile fellow, and seems to have considerable control over his voice and the appending organs and is able to make a screech resembling that made by a gazelle, so he "gazelles for the gentlemen". Of course the audience often shriek with laughter as each puts the other through his performance. With the antics performed at times, the opinion is gradually taking hold of us, that lunacy is setting in on all of us.
