and bridge. Many squalls passed over during the day, and the weather was very cold. As the rain was blowing right into our exercise place we were unable to do any ball punching.
Saturday 11th Septr Passed the F.H.S. liner "Durham" at 2.30 this morning, with lights blazing from all her ports she presented a grand sight as we passed her. African coast in sight all day, in parts hills thickly covered with vegetation, in other parts sand hills, & yet again low hills covered with green grass. Very squally throughout the day, heavy showers of rain passing over every ½ hour.
