Camden 5th November 1844.

My dear Sir,

In reply to your letter of the 28th ultimo I beg to state that I perfectly remember the circumstances of Mr. Davidson's property at Collaroy having been valued in the month of May 1840 by Mr. Glennie and Mr. White; and that possession was given to Mr. Hamilton about the same period – Mr. Patrick Leslie being at the time absent and one of his brothers or Mr. Dalrymple having been left by him in charge of the property during his absence.

The valuation and delivery of the property took place in conformity to an Agreement made in London between Mr. Davidson on the one part and Mr. Clive & Mr. Hamilton on the other – Mr. Richard Jones & myself acting under the authority of

S. Donaldson Esq
