Camden 5th November 1844.
My dear Sir,
In reply to your letter of the 28th ultimo I beg to state that I perfectly remember the circumstances of Mr. Davidson's property at Collaroy, having been valued in the month of May 1840 by Mr. Glennie & Mr White, and that possession was given to Mr. Hamilton about the same period – Mr. Patrick Leslie being at the time absent and one of his brothers or Mr. Dalrymple having been left by him in charge of the property during his absence.
The valuation & delivery of the property took place in conformity to an Agreement made in London between Mr. Davidson on the one part, and Mr. Clive & Mr. Hamilton on the other – Mr. Richard Jones & myself acting under the authority of Mr Davidson in carrying into effect the terms of that Agreement.
