in the Cow pastures, of which, certainly, there appears no mention or allusion in the Copy of the letter I transmitted to James for your information – I mean that sent on by Mr Jones, as a copy of the one he got from you, & of the entire correctness of which, I cannot possibly entertain the least shadow of a doubt. – 

You will wonder to find me vegetating in the north for Seventeen whole Months, with the exception of 3 we passed last Summer in London; but the fact is that I enjoy so very different a state of health here, and I am so fond of out of door works & improvements that I am become much attached to this place – and so is my dear Wife, and our Children are never ill in the Country, but always rosy & happy, for which great blessing we cannot be sufficiently grateful to Heaven! – 

I am expending a good deal of money on improvements, & nature has contributed its full share of natural beauties – when I came here, I found a crop of Oats &c growing close to the House, & I hope I shall next Summer be in the midst of a Park of upwards of 60 Acres, laid out in Lawn, pleasure grounds, & flower garden. –  

We are surrounded by beautiful Mountains, & in front & as the Southern boundary of the Estate we have the finest & clearest River of the Kind
