I have no doubt upon my bringing the foregoing circumstances before you – you will also remember that when Mr Hamilton applied to receive over the [Prospect?], in question Mr Leslie was absent; – (having left his brother a Mr Ernest Elphinstone Dalrymple in charge of Colleroi) & that I mentioned to you & Mr Jones that I had a larger claim upon the property for advances made to Mr Leslie for its management. 

Moreover that instead of taking steps to prevent the delivery of the property to Mr Hamilton, or to secure myself out of the proceeds of the said property, I was satisfied with the exhibition of the Letter of Guarantee – already alluded to, a copy of which you & Mr Jones shewed to me –, & I allowed the transfer to take place without any interference on my part; – awaiting Mr P. Leslie's return to Sydney, which took place in July, when I took his Drafts
