Channell has just cut and secured a very fair crop of oats - as the price Oaten hay is now selling in Sydney (about £14. Press'd Lucerne is £7.10. ) it will pay him better than a full crop in ordinary times, unfortunately he has not many acres of it. Our wheat looks very well, the Barley at the New Cellar, and the Rye on the turnips ground are a failure, so it will be I am afraid with the horse beans in the Meadow, - we have a promise of a very nice second crop of Barley for seed near the plantation if we can keep out the cattle we shall get about 50 fifty bushels of capital barley -
Having plenty of flour and about Forty Bushels of wheat reserved for seed, I propose Cutting most of the growing whilst for Hay, it will yield near a Ton to the acre - our persent
