Sir William,

Your esteemed favor dated 17th and 23rd August and the missing letter dated 16th July I received on the 12th inst for the catalogues &c you were kind enough to enclose I beg to offer my best thanks, it gives me the greatest pleasure to learn from your letter that yourself, Mr James and the Ladies were all in good health, all here are enjoying the same blessing. Mr Chisholm will no doubt have informed you of the Death of Mr Burke which took place on the morning of the 3rd October after an illness of about 3 weeks, disease of the Liver was I believe the immediate cause. Mr Chisholm wrote to the Hunter for Mr Scully, who is now Storekeeper.

The drought still continues and a great many of the farmers.
