Gentlemen

Having determined to reside in your Township, and then to carry on the trade of Boot and Shoe making in its various branches, and being aware of your wish to Patronage me thereby enabling me to support my family. I beg to inform you that owing to my inability to lay in but a very small quantity of leather which I am obliged to purchase at an enormous retail profit, I am thereby Extended in my business, not being able to make up work for Sale, and it also greatly diminishes the profit on the work which I make for Customers. My object in laying this statement before you is to incluse[?] you to confer on me the following favor. That you advance me the sum of Ten pounds including the £3. 4 now due by you to me for
