Dear Sir
When last I had the pleasure to address you on the 4th Inst I stated I would reply to your favor of the 1st Inst with the Accts.
I must beg to you to excuse me in not forwarding the Accounts earlier I could not complete closing them up till now and a reason I give at the conclusion of these lines.
The statement I made with reference to making the return earlier which I intended & most of them had been finished for several days. I could not complete them from many daily interruptions in business and also being obliged to go away for a short time. I trust you will please accept (most respectfully) this an apology.
With regard to the Plant a/cs return of Credits, I have not received any further
