Dear Sir
The receipt of your esteemed favor dated 29th Inst explains the confusion I have been in. All your other favor's have been duly acknowledged. On Wednesday Morng last on my arrival at the office nine o'clock, I found "New" waiting at the Store for me. I ascertained from him the load down consisted of Bacon, and that he had delivered it at "South Peate & Co", "New" ask'd me for a receipt & I requested him to get a receipt from the person where he delivered the Bacon. He told me he was to bring home Tea & Sugar, & supposed from me, I then walk'd up to the Grocers to enquire if they had any letters from you. They did not and appeared surprised at receiving the Bacon
