James Macarthur Esq.

Dear Sir

The purchaser of the Ayrshires does not require the money.  Mr. Macadam is a small landed proprietor and is able at any time to lie out of a few hundred pounds.  Therefore feel no anxiety as to remitting him to price of the two Ayrshires.  I have not received any notice of the purchases being made but I have no doubt that he has now two or more in view to purchase.
