encounter bad weather the danger of disease is increased.  Cows in milk should be valuable for a ship carrying passengers and should be carried free.  However these are points you can best determine.  In the meantime I will make the necessary enquiries as to stock.

Do you prefer them of a large size of medium size or small size?  Is colour any object beyond the animals being of the ordinary colours of Ayrshires?  In introducing a new breed such points are worthy of consideration.

I should have liked to have been with you at Ramboulliet [Rambouillet] where I was three years ago and made a long report of the flock of Merinos.
