Dear Sir

Your letters of date 17th and 23 ult I received upon my return from Paris.  We must have been in Paris at the same time.

With reference to Ayrshire's for Australia I shall be happy to render all the aid I can to forward your views.  Today I will write several parties in the West asking information where such first class animals are for sale.  After I hear from them I will take a trip to the West, inspect and write you to meet me at a certain place.  It will not be difficult to find the stock but it will be a question for you to decide if the animals should be in milk rather than in calf.  Two or three year olds in milk are generally considered more liable to disease than when they are dry.  Should they
