Had I thought of Salisbury of course I would have made another arrangement, keeping off the week of Salisbury.  I did not feel quite satisfied last year at Chelmsford with the arrangement of the Show-yard.

On Saturday last I had a letter from M. Lesage, dated London, on his return from Mexico.  I sent him your address as I believed you would be delighted to see him after the many long conversations you had in the Palace de la Industrie, Paris.  I should hope he has thoughts of Australia as a resting place for himself.  He is not employed by the French Government, his political views not according with the present order of things.

Yours truly

Charles Stevenson
