Dear Sir

I regret much that you have determined not to come to Scotland in reference to the selection of Ayrshires.  I should have prefered you making the choice out of those I looked over.  The desire to have young cows expressed in your last letter had determined me to select such if possible to obtain them at fair value.  I consider that I am acting up to your instructions in selecting animals of two, three or perhaps four years, I would have
