I noticed the reporters were taking down what was said).   Jones seconded Barlows motion & we all said something, except McNeil, who was drunk  & had a brush with Jones, the latter threatening to take him by the back of the trousers & chuck him down the stairs if he insulted him (Jones) again!   It gives the greatest pleasure to me to hear all & sundry, on all occasions  when  the war is mentioned, speak so highly of you and of the services you and the Australians under you have rendered  to the Empire.

I notice that your son  is your ADC.   Has Henleys  lad got promotion also?

No legislation has as yet taken place here  either regarding the Board or the Greater Sydney movement, or, indeed, on any other subject.    The intense interest evoked by the war putting everything else aside - I am sorry to say  that my Surveying practice has come almost to a standstill, we have dismissed nearly all our staff, having nothing for them to do.
