on which the following was sent:-
"W. 2434. Was there any arrangement between you and agents Kanowna as to terms stop What was 4250 pounds mentioned your wire of fourth August intended to cover and for what period stop Send copies of all telegrams and letters which have passed between you and owners relative to engagement of vessel stop letter of 1st September from agents to Mailer appears to indicate expectation of some further payment."
"W. 2865. Your G. 95. Pay 2000 pounds to AUSN Company Brisbane on account of charter of Kanowna."
"W. 3057. Please state when reply my wire W. 2434 of eighteenth may be expected."
to which the Commandant, 1st Military District, replied on 29th September:-
"E. 2218. Your W. 3057. reply will be sent Monday."
