He replies "that he did not know the Amount till he saw Mr James". I then left Mr James a note to the same effect which I had stated to his Clerk and said I would call again. I waited about the Office until 12 o'clock and on calling again received then an account 7 Weeks. Fourteen Pounds a copy I herewith enclose that you may see the nature of the receipt.

You may rely that I have not wasted any time vacating the Store since I saw you. The time certainly exceeded my expectation. This I cannot help I used my best exertion and hope & trust you will give me credit for doing so.
