"New" distinctly stated that he had not either Way Bill or [indecipherable] given to him, New took upon himself to deliver the Bacon at Smith & Peate's. I conclude it was so far correct not having been authorized to interfere with that department. I need hardly assure you of my anxiety to protect your Interests in any shape or form. However I can see exactely what must be done, and will carry out your wishes. I call'd this Morng and expressed a desire to see the Bacon, but as both Mr Smith & Mr Peate was much engaged. We have made an appointment for Monday the result I will
