The Liverpool and London Fire & Life Insurance Office, 3 Bridge Street Sydney
April 20th 1855
I hereby acknowledge to have received from Messrs James & William Macarthur the sum of Five thousand £5000 being one [indecipherable] of their mortgage to this Company expiring by Deed on the first January 1857.
Also the sum of Seventy five pounds six shillings and the pence £75 - 6 - 10 being Interest on the above £5000 from the 1st January to date.
