My dear Sir William

I beg to enclose you a Statement of money paid by me for Cattle since last settlement, all receipts have been put in except two, viz., Mr. T. Inglis £10 & Mr. Whiteman £6, which I will forward.

The Cattle number (77) head and cost £242 or a fraction under £3.2.6 each.  The (112) of the first lot I find average £2.17.6, but the (77) are superior cattle.  I shall be glad to know
