from keeping dairies.  Mr. James baird M.P. farms near Sydenham.  At one time he had 120 cows the pleura proved so fatal that he was compelled to sell off the whole.  The Suffolk Cows are generally good milkers but they are not [indecipherable].  The Polled Angus and Galloway are generally black the improved are not famed as milkers.  There is a polled herd in Kinross and part of Fife, splendid milkers colour generally brown.  The herd is rapidly changing by the use of Shorthorn bulls &c.
