Sir William Macarthur

Dear Sir

I returned from Ayrshire on Saturday night.  I examined some good animals but found the owners not disposed to sell the greys I fixed upon.  One beautiful grey entered for Glasgow may be got perhaps at £12.  She is sixteen months old.  The owner, Mr. Kirkwood is the largest dealer in dairy stock in Ayrshire.  He had the Paris first prize bull.
