Major Beardsmore, where did you sleep on Sunday night last.
A few yards from the signalling party. I did not go into Gov. House at all.

Private Sandford states:-
Did you drive to Gov. House with Major Beardsmore on Sunday night.
I walked beside most of the way. On Sunday evening I proceeded with Major Beardsmore on the Journey to Gov. House I would consider that Major Beardsmore had had one or two drinks but could not say that he was drunk. I saw Major Beardsmore next morning and he was alright then. There was no undue excitement when the shots were fired.
