Lieut. Norman states.
When did you take over Gov. House.  At 6 am on Wednesday morning  It was then under seal.  It was sealed by Lieut. Partridge.

Do you know when Lieut. Partridge went on duty.  No. I found the two kits produced in a House.  I rendered a sketch showing where I found the kits. I do not know whose house it was in which they were.  I also found in No. 3 House a Haversack marked Major Beardsmore. There were two shells in the the Haversack. They were flat pearl shells.  I left the kits in the house and Major Brardsmore's Haversack also. When I heard that my evidence was required in this case I went to the house where the kits had been found and Major Beardsmore's Haversack was not then there.

By the President to Major Beardsmore.
Did you occupy that House. yes.

By Major Beardsmore

[Signed]  R.H.Norman Lt.

Private Henley A Coy States:
Were you up at Gov. House last Sunday night.  Yes.  I went up with a volunteer party to relieve the Guards.
Did you see Major Beardsmore at Gov. House.  Yes. I arrived there between 10 and 11.  I saw Major Beardsmore at Gov. House early on Monday morning  I was on duty at Gov. House gates and about 3 in the morning I fired shots myself, hearing voices and the lick of a bolt which we thought was somebody approaching.  Our party stood to arms  I did not see Major Breardsmore until morning  I did not hear anybody calling for Major Beardsmore.  Major Beardsmore spoke to me in the morning and asked me if I knew where the man was who drove him up. I did not pass any remarks to anyone else about Major Beardsmore
Was Major Beardsmore perfectly sober when you saw him.  I saw nothing to make me think that he was not sober.
