The naval detachment moved to Matinata to cover my left flank but at 7.39 pm received a message by cyclist on Toma Rd from Commander Beresford [of Naval Brigade] that the country between Matinata & Takapur [Takubar] was so thick he could not get [through?]  On the evening of the 16th the Governor arrived at H'Hohe and was received with military honours:  At 11.30 the O.C. the British troops arrived and interviewed the GOvernor.  After the interview he was escorted safely through our outposts.
