They were evidently after the Hospital Ship but the shells fell short, no damage being done. At midday our Artillery started shelling the Turkish trenches and as they retreated our Machine Guns played on them. 4pm went for a swim which was lovely. On arriving back was handed letters from home & Mackay which was better than receiving [indecipherable]. 1.30pm Turks attacked Quinns Post but were repulsed and then our Boys charged with Bayonet, doing a lot of damage. Our casulaties amounting to about 30 killed & wounded. 2 Spies captured signalling to Turks.

Still holding the position. Nothing startling in the firing line. Our Art. put two of the enemys guns out of action
