in their charge. Jumped the side of support trench and then fired. After an hours hard fighting with bayonet, Rifle & bombs the Turks retired leaving about 100 dead in our trench and then the Machine guns mowed them down as they retired. Their losses must have been enormous. Our Casulaties were about 150 killed & wounded including 5 Lieuts & 1 Major (Major Quinn being shot dead, a brave man gone).
Saturday 29th May 1915
Heavy fighting continued during the morning, the Turks making continual counter attacks but they were repulsed on each occassion bayonets from our Boys being used frequently and cutting the Turks up badly. During the morning 18 prisoners were captured who seemed quite pleased to come in. About 12.30pm
